The Amity Affliction Share New Track Give Up The Ghost

Wednesday, 17 November 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

The Amity Affliction have dropped a new song, Give Up The Ghost.

Following Like Love, the raging track was written by the Australian metalcore band in a single day and marks their second tune of 2021.

It finds them returning to their heavy roots with thunderous drum fills and blistering guitar riffs, orbited by vocalists Joel Birch and Ahren Stringer's contrasting emotion-fuelled roars and more melodic passages. Birch explained:

"It turns out everything is faster, and yet we have the same level of attention to detail we’ve always had on our records.

"The lyrics were already written, and Ahren had a chorus melody on another demo that worked for this song so it all came together quickly which was cool. Banging out a song on a whim in a day isn’t something we’ve done before, so it felt pretty good."

Their latest full-length release, 'Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them', came out in 2020 via Pure Noise. They'll embark on an Australian tour in support of the album in February 2022.
