The Lathums have shared a new single, Heartbreaker.
More urgent and rousing than last month's emotionally-charged Long Shadows, the punchy, indie-pop track offers an optimistic moment from the Wigan quartet's new album, 'Matter Does Not Define', due out on March 7 via Modern Sky. Frontman and lyricist Alex Moore commented:
"I wanted to break away from my usual style, which tends to be more introspective and fictional. Lately, people seem to have really been embracing their true selves more, with a sense of pride and confidence. So, I wanted to create a feel-good song that captures that energy, something empowering that people can sing along to and feel unstoppable. Like they’re owning who they are."
The follow-up to 2023's 'From Nothing To A Little Bit More' will also feature the previously unveiled cuts Stellar Cast and No Direction.
The four-piece will support the record with the Matter Does Not Define Tour of the UK and Europe in the spring.
