Kneecap have released a new version of their single Smugglers & Scholars.
The remix features a commanding guest verse from Grammy-winning rapper Killer Mike of Run The Jewels over dark, bass-heavy production alongside Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap, tackling themes of rebellion and resistance against oppresson.
The track was previously released alongside another 'FENIAN' remix, Palestine featuring 3D (aka Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack), earlier this month as part of a time-limited deluxe digital edition of 'FENIAN'.
The Irish rap trio released the Dan Carey-produced album on May 1. Other singles on the record include Irish Goodbye featuring Kae Tempest, Liars Tale and the title track.
Next month, Kneecap will play their biggest headline show to date at London's Crystal Palace Park on June 27, with support from The Mary Wallopers, Fat Dog, Biig Piig, Gurriers and Madra Salach.
They'll also play several UK and Ireland festivals, including AVA Festival, All Together Now, Boomtown Fair, and Reading and Leeds as part of a summer European tour, with additional European dates scheduled for the autumn. Tickets are on sale now.
Killer Mike released the album 'Songs For Sinners and Saints' under the moniker Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival (his gospel group) in 2024. It served as an epilogue to his 2023 album, 'Michael'.
