London International Ska Festival Returns For 2011!

rom the 2 Tone era we have The English Beat, starring Dave Wakeling... the lead singer and songwriter of The Beat (or The English Beat as they're known in the USA, where he now lives & tours). Expect their classic top 10 UK hits 'Mirror In The Bathroom', 'Too Nice To Talk To', 'Hands Off She's Mine', their 2 Tone single 'Tears Of A Clown' and new material in this rare UK appearance. Also gracing the festival is Grammy nominated sensation James Hunter, rightly described by Van Morrison as "one of the best voices in British R’n’B and Soul" and from Japan, playing their only European show, a band to rival The Skatalites, The Ska Flames. Jon Fratelli Announces New Single and Roger Daltrey Support Slot

Jon Fratelli has announced that that his new single 'Santo Domingo' is to be released on 11th April, ahead of his debut solo album 'Psycho Jukebox', which is due out in June. The former Fratellis man will also support The Who singer Roger Daltrey at his Teenage Cancer Trust concert in Royal Albert Hall on 24th March. Fratelli will then head out on his own 'Highlands and Islands' tour of Scotland from the end of March. He will also play dates in London, York and the Live in Leeds festival. Slipknot Reveal New Bassist For Sonisphere

Slipknot have announced that Donnie Steele will be playing bass for them at their upcoming shows, including their headlining set at Sonisphere on Sunday 10th July in Knebworth. The masked metallers have been without a bassist since the tragic death of band member Paul Gray in May last year. Although doubt has previously been cast over the band's future, they have since confirmed a number of live dates, although according to vocalist Corey Taylor new material remains doubtful.
