Mercury Prize To Incorporate Fan Vote Into Selection Process

Monday, 09 May 2016 Written by Laura Johnson

For the first time fans will vote to decide the first six finalists for the Mercury Prize.

The remaining six finalists, including the winner, will be chosen by a judging panel, which this year will consist of Jarvis Cocker, Kate Tempest, Jamie Cullum, Ellie Rowsell from Wolf Alice and producer Naughty Boy.

The shortlist for the Mercury Prize '2016 Albums of the Year' will be announced on August 4. Meanwhile, check out a track from last year's winner, Benjamin Clementine, below.
