Pixies have released a new single.

Catfish Kate is the latest from the Boston alt-rock band’s forthcoming album, and follows on from first cut On Graveyard Hill.

The new song is a simple rock track with memorable melodies telling the tale of a girl named Kate, who gets kidnapped by a catfish while fishing one day. Watch the story unfold in the track’s accompanying animation video by Krank! Collective, who have worked with the band before on Tenement Song from 2016's 'Head Carrier'.

‘Beneath The Eyrie’ is due for release on September 13, and will be supported with UK, Ireland and European dates throughout autumn, before Pixies head to Australia in March 2020. The making of the record was documented and will be shared over the course of a 12-part podcast series titled It's a Pixies Podcast.

How many reunions have really worked? So few that you had to stop and think about it, that’s how many. Iggy Pop - Free (Album Review)
Thu 12 Sep 2019
Photo: Harmony Korine Iggy Pop is one of America’s greatest living rock artists—a stage performer whose visceral public persona is immediate and undeniable. However, that doesn’t always translate into recognisable hits...or even high quality music. Like his late contemporary Lou Reed, sometimes his songs seem deliberately shoddy so as to disappoint and frustrate his audience.
