Airport Piano is the fourth preview of his debut album, 'Apart Together', following previous cuts I'll Take Lonely Tonight, Leaving LA and the title track. It brings together his theatrical and comedic flair with '70s rock and pop influence to create a fun and engaging four-minute track. He said:
“Airport Piano is almost definitely the funkiest tribute to midlife crises and the emptiness of acquisition ever recorded in the antipodes. It walks the line between extremely cool and extremely uncool with barely a teeter.”
Head below for the song's video, which shows the musician and comedian having a laugh in his garage writing the lyrics for the song on a piano gifted by Yamaha. He plans to auction it off to raise money for a chosen Australian charity.
Minchin's record will arrive on November 20 through BMG.
