Bruce Springsteen has unveiled another previously unreleased song from his upcoming collection of lost albums.

A tribute to the Mexican female "soldadera" freedom fighters, the poignant Adelita was recorded with mariachi musicians and serves as a preview of 'Inyo', one of seven shelved records to be released as part of the 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' box set, due out on June 27.

Recorded in the '90s as a potential follow-up to 1995's 'The Ghost of Tom Joad', the 10-track 'Inyo' reflects themes from media narratives of the era, particularly stories set at the Californian and Texan borders. Springsteen explained:

"‘Inyo’ was a record I wrote in California during long drives along the California aqueduct, up through Inyo County on my way to Yosemite or Death Valley. I was enjoying that kind of writing so much. [On ‘The Ghost Of Tom Joad’ tour] I would go home to the hotel room at night and continue to write in that style because I thought I was going to follow up ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’ with a similar record, but I didn’t. That’s where ‘Inyo’ came from. It’s one of my favorites."

Alongside the early April announcement of 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums', Springsteen shared Rain In The River, from the 'Perfect World' record in the collection. Later in April, he unveiled Blind Spot, the first song off the 'Streets of Philadelphia Sessions' album, also in the set.

Earlier this month, he shared the acoustic ballad Faithless, the title track from an unearthed soundtrack album intended to accompany a film that never ended up getting made. More recently, he unveiled Repo Man, the opening track of 'Somewhere North of Nashville' from the collection. Other never-heard records in the set include 'Twilight Hours', and 'LA Garage Sessions ’83'.

Last week, Springsteen and The E Street Band digitally released a live EP titled 'Land of Hope & Dreams', featuring songs from their show at Manchester's Co-Op Live arena on May 14, the first night of their current European tour. Head here for more details on that.

Springsteen and The E Street Band will continue the tour with a show in Marseille on Saturday (May 31), before returning to the UK for shows at Liverpool's Anfield Stadium on June 4 and 7. Tickets are on sale now.
