Nell Mescal Announces New EP 'The Closest We'll Get' And Autumn UK & Ireland Tour

Nell Mescal has announced her sophomore EP.
'The Closest We'll Get' will arrive through Atlantic Records on October 24, following up her 2024 debut, 'Can I Miss It For A Minute?'.
Produced by Philip Weinrobe, whose credits include Adrianne Lenker, Billie Marten, and Cass McCombs, and recorded in Brooklyn, New York, it'll include last month's single Carried Away, as well as the newly shared title track, an emotional folk-inspired ballad. Mescal explained:
"'The Closest We’ll Get' is a collection of songs that tell a story about two people and how their relationship is in the grey area of friends or lovers. Each song is a realisation of how sitting in the in-between affected me and in turn affected the ‘friendship.’"
The announcement comes ahead of the rising Irish artist's appearances at Reading andLeeds this weekend, and a set at the Rock N Roll Circus series in Sheffield next week supporting headliner Bryan Adams.
The 22-year-old has also scheduled her biggest headline UK and Ireland tour yet for November and December, with support from Cece Coakley. Tickets go on general sale at 9.30am next Friday (August 29).
