Primal Scream Introduce New Album 'Come Ahead' With First Single Love Insurrection

Primal Scream will return with their first new album in eight years this autumn.
'Come Ahead', the follow-up to 2016's 'Chaosmosis', is due for release on November 8. According to the band's website, it bosts some of Bobby Gillespie's most personal songwriting to date.
The record began its life back in 2019, and was later developed through sessions in Belfast, London and Los Angeles. Following Gillespie's solo songwriting, he worked with producer David Holmes and Primal Scream guitarist Andrew Innes. Gillespie said:
“I'm very excited about this album in a way that you would be making your first record. If there was an overall theme to Come Ahead it might be one of conflict, whether inner or outer. The title is a Glaswegian term. If someone threatens to fight you, you say, ‘come ahead!’ It’s redolent of the indomitable spirit of the Glaswegian, and the album itself shares that aggressive attitude and confidence.”

Primal Scream's next live performances will be supporting Alice Cooper at his autumn arena shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds.
