Johnny Marr has confirmed a big summer show in Manchester.
The singer-songwriter and former Smiths guitarist will play his biggest headline solo show to date at the city's Castlefield Bowl on July 9 as part of the Sounds Of The City series. He will be joined by special guests Everything Everything and tickets go on general sale at 10am this Friday (October 17).
Fresh from a run of US dates, Marr will tour Europe this autumn, kicking off with a performance in Lille, France on October 21.
Last month, he dropped 'Look Out Live!', a 22-track live album that was originally a Record Store Day exclusive. He has also recorded four new songs with Gorillaz for their upcoming album, 'The Mountain', and collaborated with Franz Ferdinand on their single Build It Up. His latest studio album, 'Fever Dreams Pt 1-4', was released in 2022.
Other acts confirmed so far for this year's Sounds Of The City series in Manchester include The Ks, and The Streets, who'll be performing their landmark 2004 album 'A Grand Don’t Come For Free' in full. Tickets for The Ks show are on sale now. Tickets for The Streets go on sale at 10am on Friday.
