Editors Preview 'Surface, Echo & Sound' With Third Single Seriously

Editors have shared another preview of their eighth album.
Following earlier singles The Rush and Call It In, the upbeat Seriously leans into new wave and '80s indie-rock, with strummed guitars and the sort of propulsive energy that gets the toes tapping. Lyrically, it looks at finding a way forward when life starts looking a little darker. Frontman Tom Smith explained:
"So much of the stuff that has been written about us in the past focused on a darkness or a bleakness. But every time someone wants to talk to me about our band or shows me a tattoo they have of one of our lyrics or wants me to write some lyrics down for them, it’s always lyrics that have love and warmth and hope in them. If you remove them from their setting, or perhaps the way I’ve sung them, they’re not dark at all."
The song offers a further glimpse into 'Surface, Echo & Sound', which the Birmingham band will release on October 30 via Play It Again Sam.
Editors will support the album with a previously scheduled tour across Europe, the UK and Ireland early next year. Tickets are on sale now.
