Metallica To Headline Inaugural Download Germany In 2022

Metallica are confirmed as headliners of the first Download Germany festival.
The one-day rock celebration will take place on June 24, 2022, at the motor racing circuit Hockenheimring in the Rhine valley.
Other acts confirmed for the line-up so far are Five Finger Death Punch and Sabaton, with tickets on sale at 12pm CET on September 17.
Download has previously branched out with events in France, Spain, Australia and Japan, while Download UK will return between June 10 and 12 at Donnington Park, with KISS, Iron Maiden and Biffy Clyro set to top the bill.
As well as Download Germany, Metallica will appear at festivals in the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
They'll also play North American festivals this autumn, followed by two hometown shows at San Francisco's Chase Center in December, the main event of their ongoing 40th birthday celebrations.
The thrash icons recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of their classic self-titled album, famously known as 'The Black Album', dropping a remastered reissue. They also put out the 'The Metallica Blacklist', a 53-track covers compilation.
